Goodbye good old monitor

I got compiz-fusion working last night and it was smoking great!, but when my father opened the computer this morning my monitor was the one smoking! IT'S DEAD, darn because i was gonna post a how-to tonight on how i made it work.... irony isn't it? last night i finished setting up compiz-fusion but i can't use it. (but its gonna be for a while.) until then....

I got delayed because my pc was running running from a built-in graphics processor that do not have accelerated graphics support which mean i cant play games and use graphics intensive software like compiz-fusion. But my wait had ended when i finally bought a cheap graphics (cheap but not "very" low-end, its an NVIDIA 8400GS). I first installed the drivers for my XP, then Vista, then on ubuntu (im on triple-boot system). making the windows systems use accelerated graphics installed without a hitch, i hiccuped (No! I choked big time!) when i needed to configure ubuntu for the new graphics card. I was left with a DOS prompt like terminal and cant run gui. It took me 5 hours just to find how-to's,try it and failed several times. ...wait! Don't think that ubuntu/linux is hard to use, i'm only like a baby learning to walk. I'll post later the steps i made to make my graphics card to work on ubuntu.

Monday Morning Sickness

Weekend's over, i hate Mondays. I wish i would won the lottery so that i dont have to go to work. I hope this week wouldn't be one of those hellish week.

Finding directions

I love surfing the net, especially for finding information, tutorials, how-to's. i noticed that most web pages where i find the info i want were from blogs. Also, my brother started his own blog (www.marvincruz.com) a few weeks ago. i figured "why don't i give it a try?", so i did and here i am. But now comes the dilemma, "What to write?". should i write things to make life easy the way www.lifehacker.com (I'm a fan of this site) writes? or maybe a hate-blog that always rants on a specific person/service/etc? Should i make this into a tutorial blog? or maybe write my autobiography here?

Good thing the Internet can get you anywhere you want. What am I saying? I'm saying that I didn't choose one because i can choose all of them (I'll correct my grammar later). I'll post here everything under the sun, and the things that comes into my mind that i think is work sharing. Maybe that way this Blog can evolve to what specific topics this Blog really for. Until then...
